Fooyin University was established in 1958 to promote and maintain health in Taiwan and this mission remains its highest priority today. Fooyin University Hospital was founded in 1971, the Affiliated Hospital is located in Tungkang Town, Pingtung County, about 20 to 30 minutes drive from the campus. In 1987, the Hospital passed evaluation by the Bureau of Health and was promoted to the rank of regional hospital. In addition, the Departments of General Medicine, Surgeon, Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Urology passed the appraisal, enabling the hospital to become a professional training hospital capable of training over 20 medical specialists annually.
